NEW! happy project

In order to reset ourselves into a more positive mindset, we came up with a happy project. It is a small social design project.

GOAL
Making someone happy with your design.

FOR WHOM
Remember when going to the supermarket, you always pass this lonely person, sitting in a chair behind the window of her/his apartment? Or is your neighbour now getting no more visits from her family?

HOW
Deliver a happy design to this person’s mailbox without getting noticed.

TO DO

1_Create a happy design: something that is nice to look at and makes you 🙂

size: free, one or two sided, its up to you
amount of colors: free
technique: free (print, collage, painting, tape, etc)

possible themes:
utopia
where i would like to be now
the moon
still life with cornflakes
cat & goldfish
the sea
completely abstract
etc
etc

2_design a packaging, it is a present! (remember it has to fit in the mailbox).
Also write/print/etc something on it to address the person it’s for. (Like: dear sir this is something to just make you smile a little bit in these strange times. Maybe translate it into dutch!).

The sender (you!) should be anonimous!

3_add an instruction: in order to see if they like it, for instance ask them to put it in front of the window in case they want an other happy design. You could also think of other things for this.

DURATION

(at least) 3 weeks. Lets see what happens. You should at least make 1 happy design every week, so three in total. BUT: it could be (a lot) more, depending on your motivation and drive.

If you are really into it, you can do this for a longer period!

IMPORTANT 1
This project is not ment for housemates or your own family. It is for some one you not really know.

IMPORTANT 2
There is a chance that the person doesn’t put your design up on the window, what would be pretty stupid of course. In that case don’t despair make a new happy design next week for a different person!

IMPORTANT 3 _ DOCUMENTATION
Make sure to photograph:
_the happy designs itself
_the packagings
_the front(window) of the house, or flat you delivered the happy design to. If the case, with your work visible behind the window, otherwise without.

So every happy design is documented with at least 3 photo’s.

IMPORTANT 4
HAVE FUN!
